Costs

The Malta Citizenship by Investment program includes three financial requirements:

  1. A contribution to the development of Malta
  2. A purchase of stocks/bonds
  3. A property transaction (property rental or property purchase)

Procedure

The following table breaks down the application process into seven basic steps.

STEP 1

Times Immigration shall pre-screen your passport copy for Government pre-approval to ensure fast processing.

STEP 2

Times Immigration will apply for your Maltese Residence. A deposit of only €5,000 is required at this stage on account of the €650K contribution: this covers the main applicant. Additionally, a fee of €1,000 is payable per dependent.

STEP 3

Your application is formally submitted to Identity Malta with the essential supporting documents.

STEP 4

The Maltese Government will perform a further due diligence and on completion a decision will be made to either grant citizenship or request further documentation from the applicant.

STEP 5

An approval in principal letter will be issued by the government if successful. This takes approximately 4 months. Identity Malta sends the applicant a formal request for payment of remaining balance of National Development and Social Fund contribution. The candidate has 20 days to pay the full amount.

STEP 6

Provide evidence of Property Purchase / Rental & €150K investment.

STEP 7

The applicant and dependents must visit Malta for Oath of Allegiance and provide bio-metrics for the passports. The Maltese Government will issue Certificate of naturalization.
