The marriage visitor visa is for those persons wishing to come to the UK to marry their British or settled partners. As it is a visitor visa, you are granted a visa for a maximum of 6 months, in which time you are required to marry your partner. You should not have the intention to settle in the UK.
You must be able to establish the following:
You are aged 18 or over
Free to give notice of marriage, to marry or enter into a civil partnership in the UK within 6 months of your arrival
You are in a genuine relationship with your partner in the UK
You are able to support yourself without working or help from public funds, or any third parties
You will be visiting the UK for no more than 6 months and intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit
You are able to use the marriage visitor visa to marry or enter into a civil partnership in the UK
You are able to marry in any location in the UK, intended for this purpose
The following table breaks down the application process into eight basic steps:
Provide you with a list of documentation to collate for your application and a Preliminary Questionnaire to obtain information about you.

Complete the online application form, pay the relevant fee and book an appointment at the visa center.
Print off the form and collect your supporting documentation and take to the visa center. You are required to have your photographs and fingerprints taken at the visa center.
You will be provided with a visa valid for 28 days. You must arrive in the UK within this period. You must collect your Biometric Residence Permit within this period when entering the UK, which has the validity of your visa
